Volunteering at Our Kitchener Thrift Store

Are you looking for a meaningful way to give back to the community? Mission Thrift Store Kitchener offers a wide range of volunteer opportunities that allow you to make a difference—while gaining valuable experience, building friendships, and supporting a local charity. We welcome volunteers from all walks of life. Whether you're retired, a student, new to Canada, or simply looking to contribute your time, we’d love to have you on our team. Our flexible scheduling means you can volunteer as much or as little as your time allows.

Volunteer Positions Available

There are many different roles to choose from, depending on your interests and abilities:

  • Sorting Donations – Help process incoming items and organize them for the sales floor

  • Pricing Product – Assist in evaluating and tagging items for resale

  • Cashier / Customer Service – Provide friendly service at checkout and assist shoppers

  • Stocking Shelves – Restock and arrange merchandise to keep our store looking great

  • Visual Merchandising – Help create eye-catching displays and seasonal setups

  • Social Media Support – Contribute to our online presence with content ideas and posts

  • Testing Electronics – Ensure donated electronics are working safely and properly

  • Furniture Repair & Cleaning – Refurbish and clean furniture before it’s sold

  • Receiving Donations – Greet donors and help with unloading items

  • Driver / Driver’s Helper – Assist with donation pick-ups and deliveries
