About Us

At Mission Thrift Store Kitchener, we believe in more than just thrift shopping—we believe in transforming lives. Our store has been a part of the Kitchener-Waterloo community for years, offering affordable goods for families, meaningful volunteer opportunities, and a chance to support life-changing programs both locally and around the world.

Our Story

Mission Thrift Store Kitchener is part of a national network of over 50 Mission Thrift Stores across Canada. Each store operates with the same purpose: to turn donated goods into impact. What makes us unique is that we’re volunteer-driven—our team of dedicated community members gives their time and talents to make our store thrive. From sorting donations to greeting shoppers, it’s the people behind the scenes who keep us moving forward.

Community Impact

Every donation, purchase, and hour of volunteering helps reduce landfill waste, provide affordable options for families in our area, and 100% of proceeds go to support global programs through our partnership with Bible League Canada. This means when you shop, donate, or volunteer with us, you’re not only giving items a second life—you’re helping fund literacy programs, leadership training, and faith-based outreach in more than 40 countries.

Our Volunteers

Our store is built on the passion of volunteers from all walks of life. Retirees, students, newcomers to Canada, and families all come together to serve. Whether it’s building friendships, learning new skills, or fulfilling high school volunteer hours, volunteering at Mission Thrift Store Kitchener is rewarding in more ways than one.
